SQL Server database implementation and maintenance

This is a service designed to relieve you of SQL Server database technical implementation. This service is for you if you want to have a SQL Server database, but do not want to be bothered with all the technical details of a SQL Server database, such as
  • how to store data more efficiently,
  • how to make it run faster,
  • how to store all user activities for monitoring,
  • how to handle and store all exceptions,
  • how to enforce a proper naming convention for easy future maintenance,
  • how to enforce a security standard,
  • how to keep histories for future data warehouse and data mining,
  • how to check concurrency when a record is updated.

To use this service, you need one good business analyst, who will be your contact point and will provide us with at least a logical model of the database. (A physical model will help, but if you are too busy, we could produce one for you. If you need us to produce the logical model for you, you need to use our SQL Server database design service.)

You will also need at least two physical SQL servers (or two SQL instances), one for your UAT environment, and the other for your production environment. When we complete the implementation, we will send SQL script file(s), SSIS package file(s) and/or report file(s) to you with deployment instructions. You will deploy the files to your UAT environment, and do user acceptance testing. When your testers and/or business users are happy with the implementation, you will deploy the implementation to your production environment.

Our initial SQL script migration file(s) will contain all tables as specified in the physical model, all shadow history tables, all the views for one-many and many-many relationships, all common stored procedures for inserting, selecting, updating and deleting records to/from each table.

The initial implementation will be delivered within probably 2 weeks after the physical model is accepted by you and by us. This usually covers above 95% of the database usage. Small adjustments could be maded to some stored procedures after the initial delivery, and this should usually satisfy 100% of the database usage.

If you require more views, stored procedures, user defined functions, triggers, etc., they will be delivered in future iterations. If you need to migrate data from other data sources, SSIS package(s) will be produced for you in one or more future iterations. If you need reports using Reporting Services, reports will be produced for you in one or more future iterations.

To start the subscription, please use our online subscription form. When we receive your request for subscription, we will first assess our resource availability. We will not accept your subscription if we do not have adequate resources. If we accept your subscription, we will assign an expert as our contact point. All requests for implementation and maintenance will go though your contact point to our contact point, and vise versa.
